Volunteers Give Back at Week of Service

Never Doubt That a Small Group of Thoughtful, Committed Citizens Can Change the World; Indeed, It’s the Only Thing That Ever Has. – Margaret Mead

Giving back to the communities where REALTORS® live and work is a pillar of the real estate industry. Last week, more than 160 volunteers turned out for the 2019 REALTOR® Week of Service sponsored by Pulte Homes. Collectively, 12 nonprofits across central Indiana benefited from the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm of volunteers with the REALTOR® Foundation! Volunteers participated in community service projects in Shelbyville, Speedway, Greenfield, Anderson, Franklin, Lebanon, Westfield, Carmel, and downtown Indianapolis. Service projects included installing a new accessibility ramp at Shelby Senior Services in Shelbyville, building and landscaping maintenance at the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin, and meal prep and organization at the Christian Center in Anderson. Volunteers organized food pantries, prepared emergency meal bags for veterans experiencing homelessness, and helped a new housing program for homeless LGBTQ youth prepare to open their doors for service.  Thank you to the MIBOR REALTOR® Association Division and REALTOR® Foundation leaders who worked to make each of these projects possible.
