The outreach team at PourHouse, Inc. received a phone call from Greg who had been living in his car for the last two years and required daily dialysis treatment. They quickly got him a placement in the emergency COVID non-congregate housing program and began the process of applying for a more permanent housing placement. Unfortunately, his stay at the COVID housing center was short due to the distance from the hospital where he needed his dialysis treatment. In assisting Greg with his medical documentation and appointments, he shared with Pourhouse his HIV+ status. Immediately, the team at Pourhouse knew how to help Greg. They quickly engaged their community partners at the Damien Center, who immediately put him in a hotel right next to the hospital so he could easily access his dialysis treatment. Greg was then moved to a more urgent housing status on the city-wide waitlist and will soon move into an apartment of his own!
